Hello all! I apologize for not writing or posting lately.
On October 17, my husband's mother, Joyce, passed away. She was 72. She was in ill health, but had in the past two years been doing better. She had her own assisted living apartment and was getting to know her neighbors and participating in activities. She was quite the social butterfly.
It was a shock, she had not been ill. It was a heart attack, her fourth in as many years.
It is strange how someone's passing effects every aspect of your life, in some little way. It makes you stop and say a prayer of gratitude for every second you have with your family, it causes you to pause and appreciate the little things in everyday life. It makes a sunset a little grander and that sunrise a bit sweeter, because you see it through eyes that realize how short and precious our time here really is.
If you read this, afterward, go hug a child, a pet or a spouse. Kiss the next person you see and enjoy every second you have. Just for today, take time to be joyful.
