Greetings and Salutations!
The
wonderful world of art is where I live and breathe!
If I'm not
sleeping, I'm painting or writing, or thinking about painting, drawing,
or writing.
As a small child, I scribbled and created drawings EVERYWHERE—even in not so appropriate places - like my mother's walls.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Art with an emphasis in Illustration & Design from Bemidji State University, in Bemidji, MN and graduated with Honors. I have worked in the Graphic Design field for 11 years and have received numerous awards, including multiple Crystal Awards of Excellence from The Communicator Awards.
Artistically, I work in watercolor, ink, and acrylic (or whatever paint is handy), focusing on vivid color, shape and line. Subject matter varies, from botanical, everyday surroundings and landscapes to whimsical abstract studies.
I am also working on couple of childrens books and have found this creative road very challenging and fulfilling. I LOVE to art journal and have found this to be my true 'calling', ironically I've been doing this for years, I just didn't know it had a name.
I am also a beginning knitter and soap maker, I love to 'mini' garden... patio tomatoes and basil, and am a freakishly ferocious reader.
